Vesta was 16 when she realized her life was going nowhere. She was not allowed a formal education and had only been homeschooled to the 7th grade. She longed for more. She hitched a ride to St. George and jumped on a shuttle headed for Salt Lake City. Terrified she stepped off the shuttle into the arms of Tonia.
She was placed in an emergency host home where had to navigate the local police and her family until they all decided it was best to let her live the life she always wanted. Now, she is in her final year of High School, getting straight A’s and has a ton of friends! She longs to go to college and give back to others by becoming a Mentor at Holding Out HELP.
