Holding Out HELP’s success is attributed to the hundreds of supporters that believe in this cause. Without our volunteers, many clients would be stuck on a waitlist and unable to receive the care needed. There are many ways to get involved. Become part of the HOH family today and help change lives.
How You Can HELP
Holding Out HELP is primarily supported by private individuals and small businesses through one-time and recurring donations, as well as corporate sponsors and grants.
HOH serves 150-250 clients per year with food, clothing, shelter, counseling, education and community events.
You can make a one-time gift or register for a recurring monthly donation. Your donation will automatically be charged to your account at your selected frequency rate.
Examples of what your monthly contribution can do:
- $25 A MONTH provides basic necessities for a family in need (toilet paper, shampoo & conditioner, tooth brushes, tooth paste and feminine hygiene products).
- $100 A MONTH provides mental healthcare services to those who have been kicked out of their communities and lost everyone they’ve known and begin the transition into an entirely new life.
$250 A MONTH sponsors an underage youth that is living with a host family, to assist with housing costs, food, clothing and education.
Make a planned gift:
You can make a high-impact, long-lasting contribution to Holding Out HELP through a bequest, charitable remainder trust, life insurance, real estate and retirement plan assets.

You can join in serving people from a polygamist culture by giving your time to Holding Out HELP. We are looking for committed and willing individuals to be involved in areas they are most passionate about.
We are always looking for volunteers in these areas:
General Volunteer Needs
- Auto Repair
- Legal Assistance
- Medical Assistance
- Dental Assistance
- House Cleaning
- Yard work
Specific Volunteer Needs
These volunteer positions require a more intense application process. Click below to be taken to the application.
- Host Homes
Host Homes are a critical resource for those desiring to leave their polygamous communities but have “nowhere else to go.” Having shelter and safety are important stepping stones for clients to become confident and self-sufficient.
Host Homes provide temporary housing for individuals and/or entire families, stability while the client moves forward with education or job training, and most importantly hope and unconditional love.
URGENT UPDATE: 2020
Crazy times we live in from the coronavirus to an earthquake. We hope this finds you all safe and well in spite of the chaos around us. Even though our center is closed due to coronavirus, great needs still exist! We are currently looking for several host families ASAP. We just had two 17-year-old girls & a 20-year-old female leave. They are all precious and hardworking and all are working on their educational goals! We have also been receiving on-going calls from those wanting to leave. Please spread the word.
If you are interested in becoming a Host Home family, or would like more information, you can fill out the form or call us at 801.548.3492.
